This weekend, a joint seminar of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (FNF) and its partner organisation Νεολαία Ευρωπαϊκή Έκφραση („European Expression Youth”, EEY) is about to take off. Over the course of six weekends, 25 Greek students and young professionals will learn about principles of liberalism, European integration and social market economy.
“It is of utmost importance to educate young people on the fundamentals of liberalism in order to get a less statist society in the future”, Hans Stein, the Director of Political Dialogue of FNF, said. “We are very happy with European Expression Youth to sincerely tackle that challenge during these difficult times.” Athanasios Grammenos, President of EEY and organizer of the seminars, added: “Through FNF I had the chance to see liberal approaches work in other European countries. With the seminars, we want to show to the Greek youth that a change for the better is actually possible”.
For the next two months, prominent liberals like Thodoros Skylakakis MEP and well-known Greek protagonists such as Pashos Mandravelis (Columnist at Kathimerini) or Prof. Aristides Hatzis (University of Athens) will convey their views on liberalism and the future of Greece to students and young professionals. We will keep you posted.
