Why Greece needs a liberal agenda

125Professor Aristides Hatzis, Associate Professor at the University of Athens and long-time FNF fellow, recently presented a highly interesting paper on the state of liberalism and liberal principles in Greece on the occasion of the opening of FNF’s new office in Athens.

We strongly recommend reading his thoughts on the rule of law, individual rights and free market economy in contemporary Greece to everybody who is interested in the country. Prof. Hatzis argues that eventhough Greece was one of the first liberal democracies of the modern era, it lags behind modern liberal democracies in many respects.
