From 16-17 June, the Dialog Program Brussels welcomed 30 NGOs partners of the foundation. The participants come from all around the world having diverse backgrounds and working fields. Within the framework of the International Academy for Leadership (IAF) of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, they participated in a two-weeks seminar entitled “NGOs – Winning Support for Ideas and their political Implementation”.
To develop knowledge about the European Union, nothing is better than to directly go to Brussels and meet European officials from the European Parliament and the European Commission as well as the different European networks and stakeholders.Indeed, the first day was devoted to meetings with European officials so that the participants got a better understanding on the functioning (rules and structures) and the goals and policies of the European institutions. The day was concluded by a visit of the European Parliament. On the second day, the NGO activists exchanged their views and experiences with representatives from the European Network of Political Foundations (ENoP), the European Peacebuilding Liaison Office (EPLO) and the Human Rights and Democracy Network (HRDN) on how to give advice to policymakers and to lobby for new ideas.
