EINA team meeting in Brussels

IMG_3873 Colleagues from the FNF offices in Washington DC, Prague and Brussels as well as the foundation’s headquarters in Potsdam discussed the current state of European and transatlantic affairs. They got first hand information on the outcome of the Commissioner Hearings and the future Commission in meetings with Michael Theurer MEP and Prof. Frank Hoffmeister, Deputy Head of Cabinet for Trade Commissioner Karel de Gucht. ALDE Party President Sir Graham Watson reflected on the EP election results and the positioning of Liberals and Democrats all over Europe. While convening in Brussels, Belgian liberal and center-right parties finally concluded their negotiations on forming a new government with liberal  MR president Charles Michel as Prime Minister. German Ambassador  Dr. Eckard Cuntz used the opportunity to inform about the next governments’ priorities and German-Belgian relations. Foto credit: fnf-europe.org
