Kyriakos Mitsotakis MP, Greek Minister of Administrative Reform and e-Governance, recently participated in the FNF’s “Liberal Youth Seminars” which presently take place in an Athens suburb. Though being a member of the conservative Nea Dimokratia party, the son of Konstantinos Mitsotakis is generally perceived as a rather progressive politician.
After gathering information about the aims and purposes of the FNF’s “Liberal Youth Seminars”, Mr. Mitsotakis was interested in getting some feedback from the participants about his recent reform plans and discussed with them the main objectives of his policy. He stated that the public sector has to be more effective and more productive, so as to cut spending and do exactly what it is meant to: to serve the citizens.
Furthermore, relating to the seminar’s training sessions in political communication, three groups of students presented their proposals for promoting liberal reforms to the public and they received comments from a high-ranking, real-life politician.
After the seminar, Mr. Mitsotakis said that the FNF plays an important role in political education. Initiatives such as the “Liberal Youth Seminars” provide the forum for enhancing the political dialogue in Greece, not only among the liberals but also among every democratic citizen.
