About the event
With the beginning of the New Year, Latvia took over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union – for the first time since it became an EU member state.
A focal point of the country’s presidency will be the promotion of jobs and growth. Having suffered a severe economic crisis itself, Latvia might have just the right recipes to restore confidence and spark economic growth – with a special focus on the digital arena.
At the same time, foreign affairs loom large over Latvia’s presidency. Sharing a border with Russia, the Ukraine crisis seems particularly close to this state and other partners in the East are counting on Latvia to deepen cooperation with the EU.
Join us for our first Liberal Breakfast in 2015 where we will analyse Latvia’s presidency from a liberal point of view!
Welcome
