The current situation in Eastern Ukraine is once again dominating the news’ headlines and bears the danger of destabilizing the European Union’s Eastern Partnership as a whole. The fragility of the member states’ soft power approach and their consensus-based agreement on economic sanctions against neo-imperial Russia is what Dr. Tomasz Kaminski’s paper focuses on.
The political scientist from the University of Lodz’ Faculty of International and Political Science analyses Ukraine’s pro-European ambitions in the light of a seeming paradox between European values and Russian attempts to protect its sphere of influence in the region.
