“Rocking the Boat: Poland at the Polls”

Together with our partners from the ALDE Party, we cordially invite you to our next Liberal Breakfast

Monday, 26 October 2015

Venue: Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit, Avenue de Cortenbergh 71, 1000 Brussels

About the event
On 25 October Poles go to the polls to elect a new Parliament. Will the ruling Civic Platform party dwindle in favour of the Law and Justice Party, or will the incumbent prevail?

The elections will undoubtedly change the political makeup of Poland and could also change the country’s stance on Europe. Should Poland introduce the Euro and abandon the Zloty? Does it make sense to undo years of fiscal discipline to increase child benefits and raise the retirement age? The key to the above questions is the election.
Can the new parties move Poland in a more liberal direction, or will the country depart on a route of Euroscepticism and increased public spending?

Less than 24 hours after the polling stations in Poland close, we will take a first round to discuss the results.
