Fighting Human Rights Violations in Turkey

Europe Turkey

Human rights violations in Turkey have increased in recent years. Activists face major obstacles in their work while being personally threatened by state institutions. Their efforts are often intentionally misinterpreted as “support for terrorist organisations” or as an action against the interests of Turkey.

How can activists continue their work under these circumstances? To what extend can European human rights regulations help to defend human rights in Turkey more effectively, if at all? What can or should the EU do?

Join the debate with our distinguished speakers who will give us first hand insights on their daily obstacles, how the current situation affects their fight for human rights, and what they envision as the way forward.
