From 26th-29th September, the annual European book fair for children took place in Saarbrücken. The book fair’s main themes were Europe and the German-French relationship, which is a perfect match with our Animate Europe project.
We exhibited our original comics and our finalist Paul Rietzl held a workshop for children visiting the fair. He first explained what his normal day as an artist looks like and then went on to present his comics. Afterwards, the children made portraits of their friends and self-portraits.
The fair was a great opportunity to work with a younger audience and was very successful, as thousands of visitors came by to take part in one of the 150 activities.
